Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the US. The actress is an actor, singer and dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway roles, she played her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. She received the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Play in the role of Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. As it is a Hulu Original, the film is available on Disney Digital Television's channels. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford will make a return appearance on Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford's latest role was as Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the nationwide scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, as well as Linda Tripp. For two seasons, she was a star of CBS's hit comedy B Positive. Created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Other Broadway roles for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, in which she starred with George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded an Tony Award nomination. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver and grew up there.
